I’ve been doing lots of drawing lately. I’ve shared before how I used to doodle ALL the time – anywhere, anytime, on anything I could. That led to more focused drawing, with Sharpies, Faber-Castell artist pens, and more recently, Micron … Continue reading
This new year – dare I say it? – feels pretty good so far. All over social media you see the usual beginning-of-year articles, posts, memes, etc. dealing with new year resolutions. Personally, I stopped doing resolutions a few years … Continue reading
Happy New Year! Hopefully 2016 finds you ready and hopeful for lots of awesome opportunities and adventures. As for me, this is the year I vow to focus more on my art as a business – and to me, that … Continue reading
Happy Friday! I’ve been getting back to creating again – finally! Finding time to do what my heart and soul NEED to do is just what the doctor ordered. And I do mean that literally. My doctor said it was … Continue reading
Just wanted to share today’s sketchbook journal page. This started with some late night scribbling and doodles last night, and I finished it today while listening to the pouring rain. (LOVE the sound of rain!)
I’ve added a couple new items to my Etsy shop!
I LOVE painting these beautiful tin nichos from Mexico. I painted this chapel nicho in bright colors – red, turquoise, green, and more – and on the inside I used the “El Corazon” card from a Loteria game (like Mexican bingo) on a bed of gold glitter (also from Mexico). To see more photos go to my Etsy shop (link above)!
This small wood angel ornament measures just under four inches tall and comes ready to hang with a twine loop. I drew bold whimsical flowers on a white background, making them pop by using purple, turquoise, orange, yellow, and green.
I have lots more projects in progress – I’ll be sharing soon!

April is turning out to be a creative month for me, and I’m loving it! I joined a 30 day challenge for the month – the Creative Sprint. You can follow along on social media by looking up the hashtag … Continue reading
Last week I shared the beginning of my newest art journal pages. Thought you might like to see the finished pages… ’til next time…
As I wrote before, my mother-in-law is in the hospital. Today is day 12 of Lawrence and I spending our days (and some nights) at Kaiser Permanente with her. I started bringing my sketchbook with me recently, along with some … Continue reading
Life has thrown us another curve, and I’ve had to put my Etsy shops in vacation mode for a while. My 85 year old mother-in-law fell last Friday (January 23) and she broke her hip. She had surgery on Sunday and, unfortunately, it led to several complications to her already bad health. I’m spending my days with my husband Lawrence at the hospital.
Any positive vibes you can send would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to share my last art journal pages for 2014. I stated in an earlier blog post that I’ve art journaled even before the term ‘art journaling’ started being used…writing and drawing in notebooks has always been an outlet for me. I’ve always journaled – I think of them as visual diaries. Again, today the term most often used is art journaling…
I’ve been journaling more often recently, and it’s really helped me in several ways: by writing out thoughts on paper, it makes me focus on what I need to do. I’m also writing out my ideas and plans for my art business, which is what I really want to focus on in the new year…
So here are the last pages I created for 2014 – and I can’t wait to create my first pages for 2015!
’til next time…
