I’ve been doing lots of drawing lately. I’ve shared before how I used to doodle ALL the time – anywhere, anytime, on anything I could. That led to more focused drawing, with Sharpies, Faber-Castell artist pens, and more recently, Micron pens (LOVE!).
I decided that 2016 was the year I went back to drawing. I love creating bold detailed imagery, and I feel like I’ve been so distracted trying to create art in EVERY medium I’m attracted to that my work has become unfocused and…sorta lost…?
I got a drawing pad that I’m using specifically for – that’s right – DRAWING. I have my sketchbook for art journaling, painting, etc., but this one is just for drawing.
Have you ever felt like that? Like your creative work is getting distracted and unfocused because you’re trying to create in TOO many styles and mediums? Let me know in the comments – and what, if anything, you did to get back to what you really love.
