I’ve been doing lots of art journaling lately. Late at night, when the husband and mother in law are asleep, that’s MY time. You’ll find me at the dining table with a wonderful mess spread out in front of me, drawing and doodling and collaging until about 1:30 in the morning…
Creating artwork has taken a backseat to home projects. We finally have an extra room in this small house, and eventually it will be my workspace. My beautiful outdoor art shed is where I keep lots of art-ing and crafting supplies, but I can’t work out there since I need to keep an eye on my mother in law. So we’re in the process of turning the third bedroom into a (small) studio/workspace. Yay!
So for now, late night journaling is my creative outlet. I use whatever supplies I have on hand: Crayola watercolors, Sharpie oil based paint markers, uni-ball white ink pens, PITT artist pens (black), and Sakura gelly roll pens are my current favorites.
If you’re in a creative rut, or just don’t have time or space for big art-ing, try any of these methods! Trace your own hands, tear pages out of magazines, make your own masks (like the black figures in the first photo) and get to it.
Happy art-ing!
