new hand stitched heart ornaments!

I’ve been busy stitching up some new heart ornaments for both my Etsy shop and our website. 100% handmade, I used recycled fabrics and beautiful sheer ribbons, and embellishments like felt, mini crocheted flowers (made by my friend Annette), buttons, stamps, charms, vintage lace, and beads…

Hope you like them! Each is one-of-a-kind, and only $12 each, perfect for your special Valentine, bff, siblings, your child’s teacher – anyone!

’til next time…

around here…

A few days into 2015 and I find myself hit with a nasty cold…so while I sit here sniffling, sneezing, coughing, and rubbing my watery eyes, I thought I’d share a few photos of what’s been going on around here…

last art journaling pages of 2014…

I wanted to share my last art journal pages for 2014. I stated in an earlier blog post that I’ve art journaled even before the term ‘art journaling’ started being used…writing and drawing in notebooks has always been an outlet for me. I’ve always journaled – I think of them as visual diaries. Again, today the term most often used is art journaling…

I’ve been journaling more often recently, and it’s really helped me in several ways: by writing out thoughts on paper, it makes me focus on what I need to do. I’m also writing out my ideas and plans for my art business, which is what I really want to focus on in the new year…

So here are the last pages I created for 2014 – and I can’t wait to create my first pages for 2015!

first day of 2015…

Happy New Year! Here in sunny California, our first day of 2015 was a beautiful, sunny (of course!) and chilly day. Lawrence and I enjoyed a delicious lunch with my parents, and my sister and niece. I suggested a walk in a nearby park, and so we spent the afternoon in the gorgeous outdoors…

I hope your first day of the new year was just as good as mine…tomorrow I get back to sharing creative stuff – specifically, the last pages of art journaling I did in 2014.

art journaling…

I’ve drawn, painted, and collaged in notebooks as long as I can remember. Now it’s called art journaling…whatever you call it – I still love it!

Last night I gathered my new not-yet-used Pam Carriker stamps, my beloved PITT artist pens, two of my own handmade stamps, gelli prints, paints, Mod Podge (Hard Coat is THE best!) and got to creating…
