A loooong time ago (I’m embarrassed to say how long!) my niece Sarah bought some plain white canvas shoes for the sole purpose of having me paint them for her…
So much happened in our personal lives over the past year that Sarah’s poor shoes were put on my to-do list…my “I’ll do them as soon as I can!” list.
That list can get very long. But I’m happy to say I FINALLY delivered Sarah her finished shoes a couple of months ago and thought I’d share them…

My blank canvas: a white pair of canvas shoes from Target…

Doodling ideas on a napkin with Crafty Chica Juicy Fabric Inks…

Drew butterflies with FaberCastell PITT Artist Pens in black…

Added some rather abstract flowers to my butterflies…

Sarah requested purple butterflies. I used my Tsukineko Fabrico marker in Wisteria…

I used Crafty Chica Fabric Inks for the flowers…

Sarah decided she wanted sunflowers too, and the best spot was the back of the shoes…

Sarah loves blue, so we decided to change the background from white to blue…

Love the way they came out!

Sarah wearing her new hand painted shoes – she loved them! 🙂
